Happy Hump Day!
It’s Wednesday. Thanks Jenn for organizing What I ate Wednesday.

I had a great workout this morning. It was a struggle to get out the door, but once I started, I couldn’t stop.

This week I am staying at my parents place since I can not move into my new apartment until this coming weekend.  They live on the campus of a private high school so I have a lot of amenities at my disposal. This morning I took advantage of the trails in the woods and the gym! I ran “the lighted loop”, and used my Garmin to see how long it would take. As a kid I always thought this was so hard and I was so bada** when I did it. Turns out it is almost 2 miles! To give my young self some credit, it is hilly!

After my quick ‘warm-up’ run I did my first ever Tabata workout using my sweeeeeeeet Gymboss timer. It makes doing intervals a million times easier.

After I did the tabata (which I will post later this week) I did this quick number here:

My Vega Sport endurance drink kept me going through the whole workout! I really liked the Lemon Lime flavor.

I made a post-workout drink with juice from a fresh lemon, 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, a glass of water, and a splash of 100% OJ. I have been wanting to incorporate this into my daily diet, so I figured “there is no better day to start than today!” Brittnay does a great job explaining the health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar in this post.

It was really pretty good.

Continuing on to my eats…

Breakfast was a range of fruits; including bananas, watermelon and grapefruit.

There were more snacks than that too… including popcorn, chocolate and grapes.

There ya have it!

What was the best thing you ate so far this week?

  1. Honestly, the best thing I ate was probably the Chips Ahoy ice cream I had on Saturday night hahaha! ;) But the best healthy thing was probably the guacamole or the corn and black bean salsa I made. Both were deee-licious! :)

  2. Hi Mattie! I just found your blog and am having so much fun reading it. You’ve got a great writing style!
Out of curiosity, which Garmin style is that? I just started looking for one and have yet to make the plunge on the big purchase.

Hi Faith! Thanks for stopping by! I use the Garmin Forerunner 101. I just got it in Feb. for my birthday and am obsessed! I am not big on gadgets and technology but the Garmin is a great tool for running. I can’t run without it now!

  3. That watermelon looks so pretty! The color is just lovely :) The best thing I have eaten recently was the froyo I got the other day when it was warm out! Topped with some oreo crumbles and blueberries

  4. Best thing so far is either my Lemon Chia Seed Protein Bars or my homemade PB Banana Granola!

  5. Mmmm that salad looks great! The Apple Cider drink looks interesting I’ll definitely have to try that!

  6. i tried ACV recently too! at first i just put some into room temperature water and it was so gross. but then i added it to cold water with some honey and it tasted SO much better. i need to try it with OJ. good idea!
